Chris here with another ClickBank update. As always, these updates are based on what you see on our Affiliate X ClickBank 100, and Affiliate Niche pages. These two pages effectively sum up what’s going on, on CB right now. Plus of course I bring my own personal opinion to the fray. But if you want to keep up to date with what’s going on with CB, I suggest you get an Affiliate X Pro account here… Anyways, the main bit of news I have today is about a ClickBank record breaker. As you may have seen the Mass Money Makers affiliate program set a new record for highest gravity ever achieved so far (over 2080 in the first week of January). In case, you’re wondering, the previous record was helped by Auto Traffic Avalanche which hit a peak of 1,380 or so back in August of last year. Just before that Rob Benwell’s Blogging Espionage affiliate program and Mobile Monopoly had been the first to breach the 1,000 gravity mark in July (both did it the same week, although Rob was first!). Funnily enough there were rumours back last summer that ClickBank changed their gravity algorithm (making it easier to hit a high gravity number as gravity tended to “stick” for longer). But they were never confirmed by CB themselves. But back to what’s going today. No matter how you look at it, that’s a big ass gravity number – and almost 50% higher than the previous CB record. How exactly did Matt Bacak hit such an insane gravity? Well, there are a few issues here, but imho, the main factor was simply TRAFFIC. These guys sent a ridiculous amount of traffic to the site, both from the usual “JV traffic” (ie other vendors with big customer lists promoting via email), but also from other sources such as PPV and media buys. You can see how the traffic they sent compared to the previous record holder (Auto Traffic Avalanche) and also Auto Mass Traffic (another massive launch last year that got a huge amount of traffic). Here’s a screenshot from Alexa (the guys who track Internet traffic):

Matt’s an expert at driving traffic to offers like this – and it shows. There were certainly other factors here (months of planning, great copy that was split-tested to hell, managing to get an ad on ClickBank’s login page etc etc), but I’ll save those for another post. I just find that alexa really interesting. And no matter how you look at it, these guys did a great job. And now everyone launching will be gunning for the 2k gravity spot
